So.  I almost can't handle the epicness of what I just heard.  #VORTEX.

I know this single had like, the most impending flailing-fest with countdowns, leaked radio edits, etc, but I swear it was all deserved.  I just listened to my copy and just...  holy shit.  Maybe it's because I've always loved a "harder" GazettE (songs like LEECH, Filth..), but it was ecstasy for ears.  Of course there are going to be some reviews that have negative comments, but in my opinion - if you're going to buy ANY single, buy this one.  It's just amazing and hard and different.

The gazemen definitely had fun with distortion effects including echoes, "clapping" and (oh the horror *sarcasm*) autotune.  Each song wasn't predictable at all.  I think I've said before, with songs like Hesitating Means Death, that I'm always disappointed when I can guess what kind of riff is coming up or a slow-down, etc.  All three songs of this single, though, completely blind-sided me.  Loved it.

Now for some highlights :DD

01:  VORTEX

Okay first off, totally did not see the drum-cymbal opening.
The drums are just so epic right from the very beginning
I just love how all the instruments came in so strongly, right in your face, only to hold back and let the radio distortion through -- and then overpower everything again
You can tell right from the first chords that this song has a driving force -- and GAHH KAI'S DRUMMING!  Can't get over it
Ruki's vocals are really clear - kudos production team
I know people will probably whine about the two moments (seriously it was like 3 secs) of autotune, but seriously?  I thought it fit in with the song completely - not completely needless or overused at all.  Plus!  It goes right into a Ruki-Growl :3
Oh, oh that guitar at 0:52 was so awesome!  I wish I knew more technical terms...  Haven't heard anything like it in their songs, so yay newness!
The screams.  The screams  *.*
"I don't wanna become the fucking garbage like you"
Uruha's solo.  Christ.  Definitely different and I can see why some people aren't too fond of it.  But for me, it just fits the mood of the song so perfectly.  Is it my favorite solo ever?  No, but it's still awesome all the same :D
Gazemen screams :D

Okay.  Allow me to be a poetic son of a bitch fangirl for just two seconds.  My favorite moment of the song, more than the solo and more than the "fucking garbage" lyric, is the bridge (I'm probably wrong on the terms OTL):  "The only thing you really know about me is...you can't take my soul away from me".  Besides Ruki's voice being amazing and heartfelt and honest and sdfghjk here, the meaning behind the lyrics in the context of this song is just beautiful.  That, plus the amazing guitars and slow-down -- it just makes the perfect moment in an otherwise "hard" song.  <333

And then we're back to the heart-pounding shtuff :P
I'm surprised I caught most of the Engrish -- well done, RUki-sama :D
I have to say, every part of this song is different than the last.  Like, they really pulled out all the stops on this one.  I can see why Ruki is confident in his tweets about it :33
And to end on the infamous lyric:  "I don't wanna become the fucking garbage like you" -->  GENIUS.

02:  UNCERTAIN SENSE

This was definitely the "slower" song on the single.  But it's still hard and in-your-face, just in a different way.
The beginning was familiar to me for some reason..  The guitar fade-in effect was lovely though :D
Vocal distortion strikes again!  This time, a warble effect that makes it sound like we're listening to him from underwater -- and then we break the surface as he screams the next lyric (gahhh yes!)
Good job again with the English lyrics.  Ruki sure has come a long way, hahah!
Loving the contrast between crooning, clear singing and Ruki-Growls.  My English-Major self wants to say it's a metaphor with the context of the song, but I shall refrain XD
Aoi and Uruha are killing it with their call-and-answer riffs beneath the timbre of Ruki's vocals.  It's subtle enough to give Ruki the spotlight, but powerful enough to catch onto
Ruki falsetto <3
Okay, I'm loving the "speaking" lyrics:  "Can't you see that light?"  (and holy shit, how it comes right after he screams it and gah I can't handle it!) .. it's my favorite part if you can't tell :P
The guitar solo was very brief - I think this song was giving the spotlight to Ruki (and for good reason)
UNCERTAIN SENSE is beautiful in the way it creates a soft, yet melancholic and rough atmosphere.  A contradiction in every way that makes sense.

03:  BREAK ME

Holy mother of -- I love this one.
The "clapping" effect in the beginning is so cool.  It'll translate awesomely into lives - I can envision Kai striking his drumsticks together and the crowd/gazemen clapping along with the beat.  Ahhh <33
This song is definitely the "rock" one of the single.  From the first notes of that guitar, it sounds distinctly like Western rock, but with the GazettE's own signature style
I'm in love with everything going on in the "background" as Ruki sings the first lyrics.  Aoi and Reita's rhythm, Kai's drums, Uruha's "wah-wah" guitar distortion.  Just little things that make the song that much more complex and awesome.
Whereas UNCERTAIN SENSE showcased Ruki's vocals, BREAK ME definitely gives the other Gazemen the spotlight.  Ruki is still a presence, but the talent of the instrumentals overpowers him at times.
I can hear an underlying Ruki-Growl in the chorus lyric "Break me" :333
HOLY FUCK RUKI.  YOUR VOICE IS SEX.  Sorry.  You'll understand when you hear the holy-fuckness of 1:19 - 1:21.  That note.  With that little bit of rasp.  Oh my GOD.
URUHA SOLO!  Now that's the solo I've been waiting for.  It's so fucking awesome.  I'm incoherent, please excuse me.
And-and-and that note again!  Pure love.  Jesus.
<3333

It's hard to order these songs into my most-favorite-to-least.  They're ALL awesome.  I've never listened to a GazettE single where I truly loved each and every song.  There was always one that seemed to lack a little something for me.  But...  Fuck, VORTEX is just genius.  Anyways, if I HAD to, I'd list them as follows:

1.  VORTEX
2.  BREAK ME
3.  UNCERTAIN SENSE

I can't deny the epicness of the title song.  BREAK ME is just..  mother of god.  And UNCERTAIN SENSE is awesome/epic in its own right, just in a more underlying way.

So, guys.  Please~ tell me your thoughts about this single!  And, if you haven't listened to it, PLEASE DO.  I'm sure someone posted mp3s up on Tumblr (via namelessliberty).  Happy VORTEX day, everyone!  :DD

EDIT:  And it came with stickers :3
