The Writing Meme:
What’s the last thing you wrote?
A six-word story for the "sixwordstories" community. It was a fun little thing to do and I was really impressed with some of the stuff that people created there.
Was it any good?
It wasn't my greatest work in creation. Kinda rushed: "Because you'll just come back running."
What’s the first thing you wrote that you still have?
Aww -- I have my first poem (an actual one, not those fill-in-the-blank Mom&Dad valentines day cards) that I wrote about a boy I liked in my fourth grade class. I think his name was Arik, weird spelling and all haha! I know I have some other little stories from kindergarten, etc. somewhere...
Write poetry?
Of course! It was my first outlet.
Angsty poetry?
Anyone who has dabbled in poetry has at least one angst-ball poem in their files.
Favourite genre of writing?
Drama, comedy, fluff, romance.
Most fun character you’ve ever created?
A 23-year-old man that set out to prove that orange pulp was a government conspiracy =P
Most annoying character you’ve ever created?
None so far.
Best plot you’ve ever created?
Aghh. The 'plot' is the archnemisis of a oneshot-whore.
Coolest plot twist you’ve ever created?
A young man's college roommate that he converses actually had hung himself at the beginning of the story and has been the narrator the whole time.
How often do you get writer’s block?
At least once a day. I usually get stuck on a word I can't think of.
Write fan fiction?
umm.. YES.
Do you type or write by hand?
I type.
Do you save everything you write?
I have to -- I think every sentence has the potential to be something greater.
Do you ever go back to an idea after you’ve abandoned it?
Sometimes, but I usually get discouraged the first time around so I don't do it that often.
What’s your favorite thing you’ve written?
Probably a cute, little oneshot for the "fakenews_fanfic" community (under my other account "colbearlo" entitled 'It Goes Like This' and another I lovingly named 'Axis'. *check.them.out*
What’s everyone else’s favorite story that you’ve written?
Hmm. There were a LOT of reviewers for 'Axis' so, I'd have to say that one. My friend Jenn commented on my original work, "Archipelago" with an undying love for the smut scenes in there too... xD
Do you ever show people your work?
Online, yes. In person, sometimes. It really depends what the work is and who is going to view it.
Did you ever write a novel?
I've wrote about 24 dead-end ones.
Ever written romance or angsty teen drama?
Haha, of course.
What’s your favourite setting for your characters?
Outside their element.
How many writing projects are you working on right now?
About 5 from yesterday. I may die by the end of this week with the pile mounting up so rapidly.
Do you want to write for a living?
Yes, I'd like to incorporate it somehow -- not actually write novels because I'd rather not starve.
Have you ever won an award for your writing?
Yes.
Ever written anything in script or play format?
Only for school projects that called for it.
What are your five favourite words?
Adieu, fingertips, dapple, envelope, languid (and 5 bajillion others)
Do you ever write based on yourself?
No.
What character have you created that is most like yourself?
None so far.
Where do you get ideas for your characters?
From random people I see around me everyday.
Do you ever write based on your dreams?
Yes, it's a huge inspiration.
Do you favour happy endings, sad endings or cliff-hangers?
I prefer open-ended, vague.
Have you ever written based on an artwork you’ve seen?
Yes, a lot.
Are you concerned with spelling and grammar as you write?
YES. Nothing's worse than seeing a story using an incorrect verb or mistaking "than, then" or "to, too".
Ever write anything in chatspeak (how r u?)
Nope.
Entirely in L337?
...Nope.
Was that question appalling and unwriterly?
Yes, very much so. I am appalled! Haha.
Does music help you write?
Actually yes. It sets a mood and I usually have a blurb of lyrics italicized before every piece.
Oh, my god. That's way too hard.
"He ties up all the rush of want and need and now, now, now – packages it for later to deliver to Jon after the cameras stop rolling and the clear rivulets upon cheeks are dry and salted, after the aftermath; after Stephen hugs himself tight and wishes he had the gall to face the crippled world without his utility belt (and Jon is the reluctant Batman who disguises himself so well, even he forgets)."
